by Kudakwashe MuzoriwaMashreq Bank has appointed Mark Edwards as its new Group Head of Operations.
Mark will be responsible for overseeing key operations of the business functions such as corporate banking, international banking, global payments, treasury back office, compliance operations, government and regulatory relationship, trust operations and general insurance.
In a statement, Mashreq Bank said that before joining Mashreq, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer for QNB Group’s International Business division for the past four years. Mark also spent over 23 years with HSBC in a number of different leadership roles, managing large banking operations teams across various geographies including the Middle East and North Africa, North America, UK, India, Malaysia and China.
Ahmed Abdelaal, the CEO of Mashreq, said, “As we continue to innovate and concentrate on the digital arena, business process improvements and the effective delivery of functional objectives will underpin how we cater to the evolving needs of our customers and provide them with superior banking experiences.”
