Nigel is the Chief Executive Officer and one of the founding partners of CPI Financial. He has spent the last 22 years in international media, most recently working as Sales Director for ImageSource, an international picture agency and Business Development Director of Euromoney Institutional Investor in London. Nigel also worked for Maxwell Business Communications and Nexus Media. He graduated from Sheffield University in the UK with BA Honours in geography.

Adrian Kershaw joined CPI Financial in June 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. An established Financial Director, Adrian qualified as a Chartered Accountant through Arthur Andersen in the UK. He graduated from Bristol University, England with a B.Sc(Hons)degree in Mathematics.

John Foster is managing editor of CPI Financial and editor of Banker Middle East. He joined CPI Financial in 2006 and previously worked as features editor of Investment Adviser, a weekly newspaper published by the Financial Times. At Investment Adviser, John wrote about asset management, investment style and performance, hedge funds, equities, fixed interest, capital markets, alternative markets and macroeconomics. Prior to joining the FT, John worked in the asset management industry in the City of London, first as an investment consultant, advising on investment strategy. He then worked in product development, designing a suite of money-purchase pension funds, consulting on setting up a Friendly Society JV with the Chinese Shipbuilders Union and designing a suite of socially responsible investment funds. John has a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Turkish language and a BA in History, both from Manchester University.

Mike Gallagher is news editor for CPI Financial. He has worked as a freelance journalist and country risk analyst for nearly 20 years. He has spent a considerable amount of time working in emerging markets across the developing world, in the Middle East, the Balkans, South East Asia and Africa. He has reported from across the Middle East in places such as Iraq and Jerusalem, as well as Northern Ireland and the former Yugoslavia. He was educated in Ireland and later trained as a broadcast journalist, cameraman and producer.

Isla MacFarlane graduated from Bath Spa University with a First Class Honours in English. She travelled the world as an English teacher before moving to London and working in travel. She left the travel industry to study journalism and worked on the local newspaper, the Argus, in Brighton before becoming a features writer for Private Equity & Hedge Funds Middle East.

Mohamed Hairul Borhan graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in business specialising in marketing. He started his career as a financial adviser before embarking on a journalistic career with a trade publication focusing on the MENA insurance industry, writing specifically for its Takaful desk. In addition to holding various insurance certifications from the Singapore College of Insurance, he also has a Takaful accredition from HSBC Insurance Singapore.
