HSBC Bank Middle East has named Simon Cooper as the new Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, subject to formal regulatory approvals.

Cooper replaces existing CEO, Youssef Nasr who has been appointed as Chairman of HSBC Bank Middle East. He is responsible for the Group's operations across the Middle East and will focus on corporate governance and customer experience together with service related initiatives.

Simon Cooper comes to this role from HSBC Korea where he was the Group's General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. In his role he will be responsible for all operational aspects of the bank.

Commenting on the appointment, Youssef Nasr said, "Simon brings executive leadership qualities, combined with extensive expertise in our industry that together with our management team will help the bank focus on growth in the Middle East. I am delighted to welcome Simon to the region and look forward to working with him in his new role."
