KSE down 0.75 per cent in April

After recording a decline of 5.1 per cent in March-2008, the Global General Index reported a marginal decline of 0.75 per cent as it ended the month of April 2008 at 399.47 points. The decline was mainly due to dip in the sector indices such as investment, insurance, and services. On the other hand sector indices like banking and real estate witnessed gains during the month. The market capitalisation reached $233.2 billion at the end of the month, registering a decline of 0.45 per cent as compared to the previous month.
