Qatar banking sector witnessing high growth phase

A new report from Global Investment House on the banking sector in Qatar says the economy of Qatar maintained its upward momentum until 2006 as it registered staggering growth of 33.7 per cent and 33.8 per cent in 2006 and 2005 respectively. However, in 2007 the GDP growth had slowed to 12.5 per cent, which was its slowest pace in last five years.
