Asia’s HNWIs fall by 14 per cent to 2.4 million

Asia Pacific's population of high net worth individuals (HNWIs) fell 14.2 per cent to 2.4 million in 2008 amid a global economic downturn and market volatility, according to the Asia-Pacific Wealth Report from Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and Capgemini. The combined wealth of the region's HNWIs dropped 22.3 per cent to $7.4 trillion.
