Power to the people

Last month's edition of Banker Middle East magazine focused on the severe shortage of water in the Middle East, but water is not the only precious commodity that is in short supply. A major shortage of electricity is also causing problems across the region and the recent credit crunch caused by the sub-prime debacle could also be having an adverse affect on financing for the huge infrastructure projects whose costs regularly run into billions of dollars.
