Turkish interest rates jump sharply to arrest inflation

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey ((Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) has raised the Marginal Funding Rate from 7.75 per cent to 12 per cent, the borrowing rate from 3.5 percent to eight per cent, and the interest rate on borrowing facilities provided for primary dealers via repo transactions from 6.75 to 11.5 per cent.
