Janet Yellen confirmed as Bernanke’s replacement at the Fed

Janet Yellen will be the first woman to lead the US Central Bank, the Federal Reserve. She has been the vice chair of the Fed’s Board of Governors since 2010 and will take over from Ben Bernanke when his second four-year term as Chairman of the Federal Reserve ends on 31 January 2014.
