Kuwait: inflation steady at three per cent in June, averaged 2.6% in H1 2013
NBK reports Kuwait’s Consumer Price Index went up by three per cent y/y in June, similar to the increase in May. But the major components of the consumer basket did not see their inflation rates carry over from May. Inflation in the food component slowed in June, but this was offset by an increase in price inflation in housing services as well as in furnishing and household maintenance, among other components. With some non-food components edging higher, core CPI went up by 2.4% y/y in June, from 2.1% in May.
