HSBC to ‘apologise’ to US Senate over money laundering failures

HBSC executives are scheduled to appear before a US Senate Subcommittee on 17 July. A leaked internal memo from HSBC Chief Executive Stuart Gulliver to bank staff said, "Between 2004 and 2010, our anti-money-laundering controls should have been stronger and more effective, and we failed to spot and deal with unacceptable behaviour."
