EU seeks swift recapitalization of the regions banks, Merkel and Sarkozy to meet
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the sidelines of a summit in Berlin to discuss the upcoming European Union summit in Brussels starting on October 17. The meeting comes amid signs that some European banks are feeling the strain of the lingering debt crisis which has pushed Greece to the brink of bankruptcy.
