
MOHAMED ABDEL-HAMID ABDEL-RAZEK, STANCHART'S REGIONAL CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO) FOR AFRICA AND MIDDLE EAST
Standard Chartered has appointed Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Razek as Regional Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Africa and Middle East (AME) as well as Islamic Banking.
Abdel-Razek will be responsible for maintaining the bank’s technology landscape across various business segments, assuring technology services and delivery across AME and contributing to the regional business strategy.
The lender stated that Abdel-Razek’s appointment is another step in StanChart’s ongoing digital transformation agenda, adding that the bank has made significant strides in enhancing its digital solutions over the past 18 months, including the rollout of its digital bank across eight markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Recently, StanChart also launched SC Keyboard, a banking solution that allows customers to access financial services through social media accounts.
Sunil Kaushal, the Regional CEO, Africa and Middle East, said, “We are delighted to welcome Mohamed to the AME Management Team, he is joining at an exciting time for the bank as we accelerate our digital agenda, having rolled out eight digital banks across sub-Saharan Africa in the space of 15 months.”
