Wealth rule 7, 8 & 9: What do you want it for?

Wealth is a consequence, not a reward! That's the seventh rule of Wealth, according to Richard (Richard Templar, author of The Rules of Wealth).

To be honest, I think he's covered this ground in previous rules but I guess when you're trying to come up with a nice round number like '100 rules' you might have to massage things a bit here and there.

Anyway, I'm going to do three of his rules in blog this time, based on the 'I think we've talked about this stuff already' premise.

So, back to Rule 7, which is 'Understand wealth is a consequence, not a reward'. Again, this is the 'money doesn't judge your moral character' premise. If it did, Mother Theresa would have been a bazillionnaire and Muhamad Gaddafi wouldn't have been.

So. Money is a consequence. If you work hard and/or clever, you have a better chance of becoming rich. In the same way that getting fatter is a consequence of eating too much. Got it, thanks Richard.
