Royal pains

The Royal Wedding certainly seemed to bring out the inner Oliver Cromwell in many cynical, and dare I say misguided, republicans. For those Brits who resent the GDP 00.65 ($1) a year that is prised off them in taxes for the monarchy’s upkeep, the much-celebrated union of the now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was not an historic event or a day for national pride, but the bane of an already stretched economy.
