Conference fatigue in Bahrain
Day two and somebody asked me if I was ‘enjoying’ the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC). My response was that I was ‘enduring’ it. That’s by no means a criticism of the conference organisers or of the quality of the speakers and attendees. It is merely a reflection of the fact that it is, especially on day one, a heaving mass of frenetically networking Islamic financiers.
