Communicating intentions
I returned from the Union of Arab Banks’ Media Economic Forum rather more heartened than I was when I left the previous such event six months ago. However, there is still among some an undercurrent looking to pin blame upon the media for negativity. Frankly, I remain concerned about the use of terms such as ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ in terms of defining media reporting. I cannot deny that there are journalists with agendas but I have to stress that they are in a minority.
