Basel 3? Bah, humbug!
What is the point of Basel III? It comes across as a typical, almost kneejerk, remedial action by slow-witted people who are obviously not on top of their game. Why do I say this? Because it seems that regulators are very good at dreaming up all kinds of solutions, but are less able to enforce them.
