Originally from New Zealand, CPI Financial Editor Tamara Pitelen’s media career spans 19 years and six countries, namely Japan, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, NZ and now the UAE. She started out as a daily news reporter for the Christchurch Press in New Zealand and has since worked extensively in consumer and contract magazines and newspapers ranging from finance and business titles to luxury lifestyle and celebrity as well as in the digital environment where she headed up the online department of a large Dubai-based broadcast company.
Tamara holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Canterbury as well as a post-graduate Certificate of Journalism with merit. She also writes for travel website www.holidaygoddess.com and published her first book, Spokes, Blokes and Blarney, in 2011.
